Here's how we described the 2008 when it was released in 2010: This wine is pale straw in color with an aroma of pure Chardonnay fruit. With the first sip you'll taste the complexity of flavors dominated by citrus and green apple with an underlying earth and stone minerality. Winemaker Mike Chelini says "Wow, that's a mouthful! A couple more years and it will be a big, rich wine."
Ten years on, we love this wine even more than in its youth. It is just beginning to soften and show a little bit of maturity. The nose has become more complex and notes of concentrated bright apple are emerging on the palate. The minerality has become more prominent as the acid recedes slightly. This wine is just beginning to reach the potential we hope for in our Chardonnay.
