2026 Fall Release Offering
2023 Côte Rouge Cabernet Sauvignon
Limit: 6 Bottles
2023 Côte Rouge, from the highest altitude parcel on our hill, is a very special wine in 2023. This aromatically dense and expressive wine presents with aromas of black cherry, bay, coffee, baking spice, and smells of the surrounding forest. A ferrous undertone speaks of the iron-rich red soils where the Côte Rouge parcels grow. Light on its feet, fine, dense, and balanced, this second vintage of this wine is exceptional.
98 Points, Decanter
“The Côte Rouge Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a 4 hectare block, the highest on the property, sitting at 457 metres in volcanic, iron-rich soils. Aged for 24 months in approximately 60-70% new French oak, with a small portion of Merlot from the same hillside lending suppleness to the blend. The midday warmth the site receives translates into good mid-palate richness, framed by soaring, mountain-made tannins. There is an unmistakable redwood-and-conifer character layered over vivid black-and-blue fruit, graphite, and slate. It feels alive in the glass, pulsing with freshness and vertical lift, the acidity threading through the dense core like a live wire. There is power here, certainly, but also grace.” – Jonathan Cristaldi, Decanter
2023 Syrah
Limit: 12 Bottles
Winemaker Reid Griggs came to Stony Hill in 2023 after learning from the best: Harlan Estate, MacDonald Vineyards, Dalla Valle, Ridge, and the cult St. Joseph producer Domaine Pierre Gonon. He makes this Syrah in a classical, terroir-driven style that prioritizes grace and delicacy.
Just 100 cases. This wine opens with aromas of wild blackberry, pine, tar, plum, and forest floor. On the palate it is open-knit, with supple and fine-grained tannin, and a beautifully persistent saline finish. This wine was made with 30% whole clusters and raised in neutral 500L puncheons.
