Introducing the Côtes Series
Each of our Cabernet Sauvignon parcels has a distinct biosphere, with flora and fauna that are largely determined by their distinct geologies.
Côtes des Pierres, with its colluvial, volcanic material, is home to chaparral, blue oaks, and manzanitas, whereas Côte Rouge, with its Sonoma volcanics red soil (not unlike eastern Oakville) is prime habitat for redwood trees.
To preserve the distinct signatures of these sites in our wines, we culture their respective native yeasts by creating a “pied de cuve” from which we begin their fermentations.
We’re confident that these micro-cuvées will come to be seen as some of Spring Mountain District’s most distinctive, classically proportioned—and coveted—red wines. The inaugural bottling of 2022 Côte Rouge, for example, has already received 99 points in Decanter Magazine.

2022 Côte Rouge99 Points, Decanter
The 2022 Côte Rouge Cabernet Sauvignon, from the highest altitude parcel on our hill, offers so much in 2022. This aromatically dense and expressive wine presents with aromas of black cherry, bay, fresh tobacco leaf, and smells of the surrounding forest. A ferrous undertone speaks of the iron-rich red soils where the Côte Rouge parcels grow. Light on its feet, fine and balanced, the debut vintage of this wine is very impressive.

2022 Côtes des Pierres
98 Points, Decanter
The 2022 Côtes des Pierres is named for the rocky slopes where the vines that produce this wine grow. This effusive yet understated wine fills the glass with aromas of black mission fig, plum, sage, cinnamon, and rosemary. Rich, pure, and mineral-driven, this elegant wine from its inaugural vintage is not to be missed.
