" I served with a bottle of Stony Hill Gewurztraminer and you'd be hard pressed to find a better pairing..."
2011 Stony Hill Gewurztraminer |
|
Don't stumble over the long name; go directly to the glass for a delightful reward! This young Gewurztraminer is perfectly balanced, fresh and clean as a whistle with an earthy flintiness and underlying fruitiness. Its feathery light fragrance has the typical GT grapefruit character along with a wet stone quality and a hint of fresh green garden herbs. Its tart citrus flavor overlays richer notes of dried apricots and figs. This wine is as delicate as it gets, and we suggest you give it six months to allow it to round out its flavors. |
