2011 SHV Chardonnay
Our 2011 SHV Chardonnay is an unusually aromatic vintage with hints of peach, pineapple, and honeysuckle wafting from your glass.  The mouth feel is light and delicate, and the low pH and good acidity make it a natural for pairing with food.  On the palate you'll taste tart green apple followed by a flowery note and a tart minerality reminiscent of the Petit Chablis style of White Burgundy.  We think it's a great match with the spicy and rich Coconut Shrimp recipe we love from... more »
2011 Stony Hill Gewurztraminer
Don't stumble over the long name; go directly to the glass for a delightful reward!  This young Gewurztraminer is perfectly balanced, fresh and clean as a whistle with an earthy flintiness and underlying fruitiness.  Its feathery light fragrance has the typical GT grapefruit character along with a wet stone quality and a hint of fresh green garden herbs.  Its tart citrus flavor overlays richer notes of dried apricots and figs.  This wine is as delicate as it gets, and we... more »
2011 Stony Hill White Riesling
Our 2011 Riesling is a little more Germanic in character than usual.  A cool summer and early rain in 2011 have given us a more rounded wine, pale straw in color, with appealing aromas and flavors of dried fruit, honey and apricots.  There's also a spicy note of cloves which piqued our interest.  This Riesling is a touch earthier with a slightly heavier body than other vintages.  It is not sweet, with less than one percent residual sugar, and will definitely develop into a... more »
2010 Stony Hill Chardonnay
"I believe this is going to be a great wine...it already is!"  That's what winemaker Mike Chelini says about our 2010 Chardonnay vintage.  As always, it is pale straw in color.  Its aromas carry a distinctive minerality backed by green apple, Muscat and lemon zest.  The mouth feel combines richness and acidity, and it's that balance of fruit and tartness that we always strive for.  Apples, lemon and an earthy minerality dominate the palate, followed by the long,... more »
2010 Stony Hill Semillon de Soleil
We love this vintage of Semillon de Soleil!  Its pale gold color in the glass leads you to divine aromas of apricots and peaches layered with a sweet honey scent.  Several elements make this vintage a classic: the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity and the concentrated flavors of the Semillon grapes.  We simply lose ourselves in the rich taste of dried fruit and spices and in the vibrant mouth feel and rich and lingering aftertaste.
2009 Stony Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
Our 2009 vintage revisits the lovely Cabernets made in Napa in the 1960s and 1970s, restrained in style, immanently drinkable now but with a long future before it.  This is an aromatic wine with black cherry fruit, an endearing hint of green olive and evanescent whiffs of bittersweet cocoa powder on the nose.  In the mouth we detect a delicate yet powerful fruit presence along with a light smokiness and notable minerality from Stony Hill's rocky soils.  The tannins have rounded... more »
